Spring Training

On ball fields and in school yards
we caught the first scent, as if
someone was barbecuing down
the road. School was out.
Summer made us restless to swing
and run, the sun simmered every limb.
Light was on our faces, moss sprouting
in hidden places, urges barely understood.
No doubt it took years to ingest,
years more to bake into our bones,
and yet now it seems the games
had just started, that we’d barely taken
practice swings before one by one
we began to disappear, sucked
into the air, desperate as Icarus
for whatever lay beyond the fence.

  1. Hello, I think your blog might be having browser compatibility issues. When I look at your blog site in Safari, it looks fine but when opening in Internet Explorer, it has some overlapping. I just wanted to give you a quick heads up! Other then that, great blog!

    1. Thanks! I have been made aware of the Explorer problem and I am trying to see what I can do; however, I have very limited knowledge on this. It is interesting because I have had a few people say they can’t see Neil’s photo and a few others say there is a blue bar on the right-hand side or overlapping on a few posts. I have tried several computers and all load quickly and show the same info. I would love to have a Web Layout Editor and look into helping address these concerns. So if anyone is interested, please apply!

    2. Posted on Do you people have a faoocbek fan page? I looked for one on twitter but could not discover one, I would really like to become a fan!

  2. I’ll immediately grasp your rss but I can not to find your e-mail subscription hyperlink or newsletter service. Do you have any? Please permit me know so that I may subscribe. Thanks.
